July-August 2025 Status Update
Officially in college while cooking up the mixtapes behind the scenes

Pardon the radio silence in the blog and elsewhere, it's happened that I am ramping up on academic paperwork during my first year in college, at least through the first half of the first semester. In the meanwhile, here's a quick snapshot of what's happened during July and August 2025:
The elephant in the room: CS50x and college
Right now, as you are reading this, I am currently in college at STI College Meycauayan as a Bachelor of Science in IT program undergraduate student. I might be inactive a bit while getting cooked and balancing my time between school and other commitments, so apologies for any delayed response in advance, especially with my open-source work.

I am taking CS50x to supplement my college studies, specifically in the Computer Programming 1 course, although it’s been on hiatus for quite some time as mentioned earlier.
The listening stats
If you see my Instagram post over at my multifandom account, you might see my Last.fm listening stats via Pano Scrobbler for July 2025, like these below.

I’m not going to type all the (artist) tags, but at least I can pull the statistics on how cooked or slayed through the month. And it might be obvious I am going deeper into the furry fandom through furry artists and musicians on the radar (bet Verplex and MANEDBENTO! are going to be the mainstays and headlining over Spotify Wrapped 2025 and/or YouTube Music Recap 2025 soon). More on that soon in a future post.
From the archives
- Imagine watching a furry horror (or should I say "eldritch furry horror") film by Verplex (Sedrik Dedman)[1] from November 2022 before 3 AM, minus the screams and laughing from the eldritch horrors (the long-necked fursuit still giving me nightmares). It's very FNAF themed, as some commenters say ("The fur(suit) behind the slaughter" from @webbyoyster, hence playing the FNAF 2 song from The Living Tombstone). If you ask me for spoilers, the only thing I can say is "the last digit is 5".
This is why you shouldn't watch horror films before bed. (see the full playlist in YouTube)
- If maintaining an unofficial audio-only podcast feed for Hermitcraft Recap (got the feed back up and running after inactivity and a quick run to Spotify for Creators Support on switching hosts, plus some Apple ID recovery headaches for the email address used for verification in different podcast directories) is not enough to get hit by the (autistic burnout) bus, I literally opened a new YouTube channel dedicated to actually doing Twitch VOD archival (plus chat transcripts at the Internet Archive). The very first one off Storj DCS (before being asked to pay USD 5 per month unless I prepay via STORJ tokens) might be obvious for those watching Gildedguy Story #8: this year.

- There's also a fresh Spotify playlist off the mixtaping bakery featuring songs from the archives, mostly before and in the early 2010s (possibly before 2013-2014). Including the Rickroll itself if you play in shuffle. For those asking how we got here, see this YouTube clip of (you guessed it) that green and purple fox (mentioned earlier) playing Sweet Dreams in piano.
The discovery feeds across the internet
Here’s a curated list of what I’ve been reading/listening to/found ilately. Also, visit this saved collection in the Google app for more tidbits.

- From Business Insider: Bluesky's CEO warns you shouldn't 'fully outsource your thinking' to AI

And that's it for now
The next status update will be released approximately by time Halloween rolls into my feeds (guess the green and purple fox in question is cooking up something, as spotted 2 weeks ago on YouTube) if everything goes well, but enjoy the rest of the mental health break weekend for fellow STIers.
Until then, I am Andrei Jiroh and see you soon for another post.

Footnotes
As a temporary workaround, we use custom HTML code in this section for footnote links to properly work while there is no native option in Ghost due to Markdown syntax rendering limitations. (see this forum thread for details)
While it may be obvious about his real name if you look at the song credits (or even stroll through socials throughout the years, especially at his second channel), I often place their real names behind parentheses as a way to disambiguate when there's a lot of Michaels on your queue (in my case: Vsauce (Micahel Stevens), Gildedguy (Michael Moy), Michael Reeves, Michael Kovach, and Caspro (Michael Giancaspro)). See also this FAQ entry on the multifandom hellscapes Notion Sites page, although I might thread carefully to avoid deadnaming anyone.
